Nuts Cocoon
Built in the 17th Century and situated in the heart of the Belgian Ardennes, the Chateau de Isle La Hesse, one of the most beautiful places in Bastogne, breaths history.
During the Battle of the Bulge, Hitler’s last major offensive to change the war in Western Europe, the chateau served as the Headquarters of the American 101st Airborne Division from 28 December 1944 until 18 January 1945 and gave comfort and shelter to the American Generals Maxwell Taylor and Anthony C. McAuliffe who replied ‘NUTS!’ to the German ultimatum to surrender.
In 2018, the eastern wing of the chateau was renovated and transformed into a luxurious and comfortable guestroom, the NUTS COCOON, that accommodates two people. This new lodging facility in Bastogne comes highly recommended to couples who enjoy the outdoors and beautiful rural surroundings. At the same time the place offers privacy and rest in a historical environment, just 1,5 miles from the towns center. The friendly host will welcome you at their nice domain where you can still feel the WWII atmosphere and the spirit of the American Paratroopers of the second world war.
Highly Recommended!
